Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to focus on building genuine, personal relationships with those you serve. Go beyond your job description and lead with a caring spirit, and never underestimate the power of consistency and kindness. Trust that meaningful work will open unexpected doors, and keep your focus on the people you serve, not just the position you hold. Even if you have to start from nothing, strive to build something meaningful, and let purpose guide your career decisions every step of the way.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is ensuring that international and immigrant students feel supported amid changing policies, while also balancing administrative responsibilities with providing personalized care. At the same time, there are significant opportunities, such as expanding global education and ESL programs, and creating bridges between education, nonprofit work, and international outreach. These opportunities allow me to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives while advancing the broader mission of inclusive and accessible education.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life include commitment and follow-through, as well as loyalty to my students, colleagues, and mission-driven work. I prioritize empathy and compassion, particularly for underserved populations, and I am willing to make personal sacrifices in service of long-term impact. Above all, I strive to lead with integrity and purpose, ensuring that my actions align with my principles and the meaningful outcomes I hope to achieve.
