Her Interview
Ten minutes with Janis
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, persistence, grit, and determination. As a woman navigating the business world on my own, I had to work harder, especially in the beginning. By staying committed, believing in myself, and trusting that I was on the right path, I continued to overcome challenges and move forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received from Dr. Quinn was, “Act enthusiastic, and you’ll be enthusiastic.” Throughout my career, I’ve embraced optimism and the belief that you can achieve anything you set your mind to with determination, passion, and a positive attitude.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to take action rather than just talk about their goals. Be willing to try, seek out people who are already doing what you aspire to do, learn from their experiences, and emulate the practices that lead to their success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I approach challenges and opportunities with confidence and a willingness to take action. Like a bee that doesn’t know it can’t fly, I believe in focusing on what is possible rather than on limitations, allowing me to embrace new opportunities and pursue my goals with determination.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and transparency are the values I prioritize most in both my professional and personal life. I believe in being honest with others and value building relationships based on mutual trust, openness, and accountability.
