Her Story
About Jasmine
I've been in the medical field for over 10 years. I started as just a new patient scheduler doing basic work, and I slowly worked my way up into the management role. My scope is within chiropractic, physical therapy, and pain management, and I've primarily been with pain management for the 10 years that I've done, but in between with the chiro and PT. With that, I've done pretty much everything you could think of as far as the basic roles of what Front Desk would do to the billing side, the scope to authorizations and credentialing. I frame my business around authorizations, that's why the website says Choice Ops, because it's based on obtaining and processing authorizations for medical providers and offices on an outsourced basis with knowledge of Medicare guidelines, what's required, and patient care as an urgent focus. Leadership is very big for me. That was part of why I went into management originally, because I felt like we need more people, more individuals that are actual leaders versus just directing on a management level, as far as micromanaging and things like that. I work very well with people. I try my hardest to not only support my team, but teach them and guide them as necessary, because in my opinion, a practice, especially a medical practice, can't succeed if they don't have the right team together and working diligently in getting the goals completed.

Ten minutes with Jasmine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my kids. I'm trying to provide for them in ways that I didn't have when I was a child. I would also say trying to prove to myself that I am capable, and that I can do it, because I felt like I was always having to struggle, or overachieve, or over-push myself.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't get distracted, and don't allow anyone to make you feel like you're less than. I come from a place where I was always felt like I was not good enough, and I had to overachieve and over-push myself to get to where I am today. My biggest advice to my daughter, especially, because I have a child of my own, who's going into college now, my biggest focus for her is to keep pushing and never stop. Don't let anyone tell you you can't.
