Ten minutes with Jasmine
01What do you attribute your success to?
One of the attributes that has contributed most to Jasmine’s success is perseverance. Throughout her career, she faced rejection and was passed over for promotions multiple times, including after completing nursing school. While those experiences were discouraging, she chose to view them as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks.
Instead of giving up, Jasmine remained focused on her goals and was intentional about seeking and applying feedback. She worked diligently to strengthen the areas identified for improvement, continuously investing in her professional and personal development. Through that process, she gained a deeper understanding of her strengths, opportunities, and leadership style.
Her journey taught her that success is not always immediate, but persistence, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn can open doors over time. While everyone’s path is different, Jasmine believes that her commitment to growth, resilience in the face of adversity, and determination to keep moving forward were key factors in helping her achieve her goals.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Best Career Advice Received
The best career advice Jasmine has received came from mentors who were willing to provide honest feedback, thoughtful guidance, and the encouragement to push beyond her own perceived limitations. Their willingness to challenge her, while also supporting her growth, helped her recognize that success often comes from embracing discomfort, remaining open to feedback, and continuously striving to improve. That advice has shaped her leadership approach and reinforced the importance of growth, resilience, and lifelong learning.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Advice for Women Entering the Industry
Jasmine’s advice for women entering the healthcare industry is to maintain a positive mindset and believe in their ability to achieve their goals. Challenges, setbacks, and rejection are inevitable, but they do not define success. She encourages women to stay focused, remain resilient, and keep moving forward even when faced with discouragement. By setting achievable goals, embracing growth opportunities, and maintaining a positive outlook, they can overcome obstacles and create the career they envision for themselves.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges in the Field
Jasmine recognizes that the dialysis industry is highly competitive, with many talented professionals striving for leadership opportunities. She also acknowledges that executive leadership roles have historically been male-dominated, creating additional challenges for women seeking to advance into senior positions.
One of the biggest obstacles women often face is overcoming misconceptions about female leadership. There can be an unfair perception that women are overly emotional or less suited for executive decision-making, despite consistently demonstrating strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise. Jasmine believes that women must continue to distinguish themselves through their performance, confidence, and results while challenging outdated stereotypes.
By focusing on excellence, building credibility, and remaining resilient, women can break through barriers, create opportunities for themselves and others, and help shape a more diverse and inclusive future for healthcare leadership.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Values That Matter Most
Perseverance, integrity, and continuous growth are the core values that guide Jasmine’s professional and personal life. She believes in maintaining a positive mindset, leading with purpose, and continuously striving to become a better leader, mentor, and person. These values have shaped her career journey and continue to influence how she approaches challenges and opportunities.
Outside of work, Jasmine places a strong emphasis on family and creating meaningful experiences with her loved ones. She enjoys spending quality time together, including family trips and shared adventures. She is also passionate about mentoring youth through sports such as volleyball and soccer, helping young people build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Looking ahead, Jasmine is excited about entrepreneurship and hopes to build a business alongside her daughters, combining her passion for business, family, and creating something meaningful that can have a lasting impact for future generations.
