Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jasmine
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from wanting to be an example for my three daughters so they can accomplish what they need to in life. I'm also pretty hard on myself and always trying to be my biggest competitor, pushing to be the best at whatever goal I set without ever wanting to look back and regret not trying.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is learning to be accountable. Admit when you have issues or need help, reach out to people when struggling, and don't try to take on everything by yourself. It's okay to reach out and get support without staying quiet.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be confident in who you are, never be afraid to learn more and push past yourself, but also trust yourself and the skills you already have. Grow but don't change who you are. Always be willing to grow and learn new things without being rigid, and don't discount everything you have inside of you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is breaking through the expectation that you have to look or be a certain way to be successful in property management, like breaking through glass ceilings. The biggest opportunity is changing the image of property management and pushing past that ceiling to show the industry is not the cookie-cutter definition.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Accountability is a big one - showing up and doing what you say you're going to do. Honesty is another. Integrity too, like doing what you're going to say you're going to do.
