About Jasmine
Jasmine is a product UX designer whose background crosses design, computer science, and interactive media. She focuses on studying and designing for how humans make sense of complex technology. She has about 8 years of experience in the field and currently serves as Lead UX Designer. In this role, she designs products, leads a team of designers by validating work and leading brainstorming sessions, collaborates with developers and technical architects, and draws on her computer science background to create robust designs and communicate effectively. Her past experience includes internships as a developer, work as a product manager, and academic research during her master's and undergrad. She also co-founded the gamified fitness platform Fitzura as the design founder, a year-long venture that built her confidence in the workplace.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Ask a lot of questions and don't be shy about putting your thoughts on the table, even when talking to people with seniority. If you want something, ask for it - the worst that can happen is they say no. I asked for more responsibility to lead others and got it by backing it up with evidence.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There's a lot of uncertainty with AI that's making people panic, but our skill set is transferable. We just need to learn the new tools, as design and product work is tool-agnostic. I've been riding the wave and adapting constantly.
