What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination, dilligence and the willingness to step outside of my comfort zone.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to know your audience. As a DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) who has delivered many speeches, I initially only applied that phrase to public speaking. However, in 2015 while serving in my as a Proficiency Coach at Bank of America, I began working closely with a particular senior manager who repeated the same advice during our interactions: “Know your audience.” At the time, I’ll admit—I found it frustrating to hear it over and over again.
Years later, experience, and growth, I came to understand the true value of those words. Their meaning extended far beyond the stage or a speech. They influence how I communicate and engage with clients and partners, how I build relationships, and even how I navigate everyday conversations. Today, I recognize that knowing your audience is one of the most powerful tools we have. It not only strengthens communication but also deepens understanding, improves collaboration, and enhances the way we connect with individuals and clients alike.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the workforce, especially in male-dominated fields, is to truly believe in yourself and remain persistent. Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how determination and confidence can open doors. I’ve also made it a priority to mentor other women and build strong business partnerships, which has been incredibly rewarding. One key concept I always emphasize is “stick-to-itiveness”—the ability to stay committed, even when challenges arise. Success often comes to those who persevere with focus and resilience.
