Her Story

About Jasmine

I am a recreational therapist using leisure activities such as swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and adaptive dance to help clients meet health and wellness goals. I founded Jazzin's Beat to provide inclusive adaptive dance classes for all ages and disabilities after a client in a motorized wheelchair inspired me. With a background in classical Indian dance and teaching tap, jazz, and ballet, I started with one class and now serve eight locations.

01What do you attribute your success to?

If you set your mind to it and find a way to help someone or solve a problem in society, take a step forward and do something about it. I hope to share this with my daughters and sons.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Ask yourself what makes you unique before creating a business. Have passion rather than fitting a mold. Constantly advocate for what you believe in, explain your field, and push for higher pay and recognition of its importance.
