What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a disciplined, strategic approach to leadership, growth, and execution. I am most proud of my work as an active venture capital investor and the founder of SlayCoutureByJaz.com, an online boutique designed to empower women to express confidence, elevate their personal brand, and align their external presence with their inner values. I am an assertive, results-driven business growth professional with a proven ability to drive expansion through sales and operational initiatives that increase demand, generate revenue, and grow market share. As a strategic thinker, I consistently design and implement initiatives that align with and advance organizational objectives, supported by a Master of Public Policy in National Security from George Mason University (2012).
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Admiral Osi Combs, who consistently encouraged me to have confidence in my skills and credentials. He reinforced the importance of owning my expertise, advocating for myself, and understanding that I have earned and deserve a seat at the table. This guidance has shaped how I approach leadership, decision-making, and professional growth. Jasmine will be adding additional details to her feature in her own words.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to recognize that your biggest asset is your network. Continue to engage even when you feel intimidated, be confident in your abilities, find your voice, and allow yourself to be known and heard.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith and family. I am most proud of my time at the National Defense University and my work in government contracting, which gave me a deeper understanding of the personal experiences of our military personnel and the privilege of engaging with national leaders. Outside of work, I have a passion for fashion, enjoy exploring new restaurants as a foodie with friends, and love traveling to experience new places. I am also a devoted mother to a beautiful four-year-old and an eleven-month-old, and I cherish the balance of family, personal growth, and professional development.
