What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to discipline, clarity of purpose, and the ability to execute with intention. I am especially proud of building businesses and investments that reflect both performance and values—including my work as an active venture capital investor and the founder of SlayCoutureByJaz.com, a platform designed to help women show up confidently and authentically. Professionally, I am known for driving growth through strategic sales and operational initiatives that expand markets, generate revenue, and deliver measurable results. My approach is shaped by formal training in policy and national security and by a commitment to aligning strategy with long-term impact.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Admiral Osie Combs, who consistently encouraged me to have confidence in my skills and credentials. He reminded me to fully own my expertise, advocate for myself, and recognize that I have earned—and deserve—a seat at the table. That guidance fundamentally shaped how I approach leadership, decision-making, and professional growth, reinforcing the importance of showing up with clarity, conviction, and purpose.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Build your network with intention—it will be one of the most powerful tools in your career. Show up even when it feels uncomfortable, speak with confidence, and advocate for yourself. Your voice matters, and allowing yourself to be seen and heard is essential to growth and opportunity.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me—both personally and professionally—are faith and family. I am especially proud of my time at National Defense University and my work in government contracting, experiences that deepened my appreciation for the personal sacrifices of our military service members and the privilege of engaging with national leaders who shape our country’s future.
Outside of work, I have a passion for fashion, enjoy discovering new restaurants as a self-proclaimed foodie, and love traveling to experience new cultures and places. Above all, I am a devoted mother to a four-year-old and an eleven-month-old, and I deeply value creating balance across family life, personal growth, and professional development. These priorities ground me, guide my decisions, and continue to shape the leader—and person—I strive to be.
