About Jassy
Jassy Custer serves as a multi-site administrator overseeing dialysis clinic operations in Lebanon, New Hampshire. With 12 years in healthcare and 4 years in leadership, she manages teams of nurses, dietitians, social workers, patient care technicians, and administrative assistants while guiding clinic operations, managing budgets, and partnering with physicians and transplant programs. After completing an accelerated nursing program, Custer also provides direct patient care, initiating and terminating dialysis treatments and mentoring new staff. She holds a bachelor's degree from UMass Dartmouth in economics and healthcare administration along with an associate's degree in nursing from River Valley Community College. Custer belongs to the American Nurses Association and the National Nephrology Nurses Commission. Her primary location received an award for patient and staff engagement from the ESRD network. She values integrity and accountability in her work and advises leaders to extend grace to themselves while encouraging women in healthcare to be assertive advocates.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To be gracious to yourself as a leader, especially a new leader. It can be really challenging to navigate through a lot of different personalities and experience levels, and the same grace that we show our team, we should show ourselves as well.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
For women entering healthcare, it is really important to be assertive and advocate for yourself, your patients, and your team. It is a valuable leadership skill to be assertive and set professional boundaries while staying true to yourself.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and accountability are most important. It is important to admit when you have made a mistake, apologize, and take the ego out of it.
