Ten minutes with Jaycee
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to putting people first, taking the time to understand both my colleagues and the business operations, and building strong, meaningful relationships. I believe in leading with gratitude and integrity while maintaining a clear plan and staying focused on execution. Understanding how the business works allows me to connect people strategy with organizational needs and create meaningful results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to trust that I am meant to be where I am supposed to be, at the right place and at the right time. That perspective has encouraged me to remain open to opportunities, trust the journey, and make the most of the experiences and relationships that shape my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the business and human resources field is to understand your reality, learn how the business operates, and build a reputation for getting things done. Focus on accuracy, urgency, and follow-through, because consistently delivering on your commitments demonstrates your value and establishes your credibility. Most importantly, understand your worth and continue building the knowledge, relationships, and experience that allow you to contribute with confidence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in human resources today is balancing changing world dynamics with the need to maintain strong relationships while also meeting business demands. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for HR leaders to remain adaptable, understand the business, strengthen relationships, and help organizations navigate change while continuing to support their people effectively.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Relationships and genuinely caring about people are among the most important values in both my work and personal life. I also value maintaining a positive attitude and treating people well. I believe that strong relationships, compassion, and respect create the foundation for effective leadership and meaningful connections with others.
