Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my Mother, who was my inspiration and is my North Star. She started the very first assisted living and memory care in our hometown back in the 90s, and the passion she instilled in me has helped me create more efficient systems and never give up. I had just started in private duty two months before she passed away unexpectedly, so I've always used her as my guide to keep going and keep moving forward. She taught me that you're here for a reason, and even if people don't choose you, you can help educate them on all the wonderful things that are available. My goal has always been to figure out who I can help become a better version of themselves and help many others along the way. Moving into private duty has helped me redefine success and start fresh in figuring out how to make an impact that is going to be everlasting for not only the person who's receiving the care, but the adult children or relatives that can see how happy and meaningful life can be in the final years.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Encourage and support others, lead by example, be open to try new things. No doesn't mean the door is closed, you just have to show people the value you can bring to them and how you can better their lives.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Voice your opinion, be a team player, never give up. Always be an advocate for others.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Compliance is key, making sure you are growing your business while remaining compliant is one of the most important things to do. Value your own time and put a dollar value on it to make sure you are able to spend your time wisely.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important value to me is making a meaningful impact in people's lives. I believe you're here for a reason, and even if people don't choose you, you can help educate them. I've learned to never give up and to keep moving forward. My goal has always been to help people become a better version of themselves and help many others along the way. I want to help seniors have meaningful relationships and see how happy and meaningful life can be in their final years. I also value helping people at the most difficult time of their life, which is making decisions about their care and living situation. Training and mentoring others is incredibly important to me because I love helping people become successful and grow as true leaders in their communities.
