Her Story
About Jazmin
Jazmin Aracely Diaz is an entrepreneur, communications professional, and community builder based in Houston, Texas. She launched her entrepreneurial journey in 2020 by selling sweet crepes from her home, eventually growing the venture into a mobile crepe catering business serving weddings, private events, corporate gatherings, and special occasions throughout the Houston area and across Texas, with plans to rebrand as Dulce Diaz.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Hope College in just three years and gaining experience in corporate marketing, Diaz made the decision to pursue entrepreneurship full time. She credits her success to her faith in God, the support of her family, and the perseverance required to navigate challenges and continue moving forward.
In July, Diaz founded Girls That Mean Business, a community created to provide connection, resources, and support for women business owners in their 20s and 30s. Through the initiative, she brings women together through networking events, community gatherings, mentorship, and opportunities for collaboration. Her long-term vision is to grow Girls That Mean Business into an agency focused on helping women integrate their personal lifestyles and business goals.
Diaz is deeply committed to service, leadership, and creating opportunities that unite people across business, culture, and community. She awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a first-generation Mexican student and, during her time at Hope College, held several leadership and community-focused roles. Guided by creativity, encouragement, empowerment, authenticity, and service, Diaz combines communication, faith, and entrepreneurship through her businesses and community initiatives to build meaningful relationships, cultivate community, and inspire others to pursue their goals.

Ten minutes with Jazmin
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God, the unwavering support of my family, and the perseverance to overcome life’s challenges. One of the most defining moments in my journey was leaving the corporate world to pursue entrepreneurship; a decision that required both courage and conviction. These experiences taught me that every challenge has a purpose, and I am grateful for every season, the difficult, uncertain, and rewarding, because each has shaped me into the person and entrepreneur I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to stay true to my values, trust God's timing, and never let fear prevent me from pursuing my purpose. I have learned that success is built through perseverance, continuous learning, and surrounding yourself with people who genuinely support your growth. My family's encouragement, my educational experiences, and the mentors and leaders I've met along the way have reinforced the importance of leading with integrity, serving others with purpose, and remaining committed to making a meaningful, lasting impact.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in yourself, trust the process, and never let fear keep you from pursuing your dreams. Entrepreneurship requires resilience, patience, and the courage to embrace uncertainty while staying true to your purpose. Build authentic relationships, seek out mentors who will challenge and support you, and remain grounded in your values as you grow. Focus on creating something that positively impacts the lives of others and remember that meaningful success is achieved one step at a time through consistency, hard work, and faith.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in entrepreneurship today is standing out in an increasingly competitive marketplace while staying authentic to your mission and values. Building a sustainable business requires adaptability, creativity, and a willingness to evolve alongside changing consumer expectations. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunities for women entrepreneurs to collaborate, build supportive communities, and leverage digital platforms to expand their reach and create meaningful impact. I also believe organizations like Girls That Mean Business play an important role in closing the gap by providing education, mentorship, networking opportunities, and practical resources that empower the next generation of women business owners.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, connection, creativity, and growth shape how I approach both my work and personal life. I aim to lead with purpose, encouragement, and a genuine belief in people’s potential. I value honoring my cultural roots while building inclusive spaces where others feel seen and supported. Through thoughtful communication and creative work, I hope to empower others, strengthen community, and leave every space brighter than I found it.
