Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jazmine

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the grit, dedication, and independence my mother instilled in me. She taught me to believe in myself, recognize my value, and keep moving forward with resilience, while creating a positive and supportive environment for those around me.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to take risks and believe in themselves. Stay grounded in your values and beliefs, trust your ability to grow, and continue building your skills as opportunities arise. Advocate for yourself, seek out mentors, and surround yourself with people who inspire you and can provide guidance to help you grow and reach your goals.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is overcoming the misconception that age determines capability. Young people are often underestimated, despite having the skills, talent, and potential to succeed. Through my work at Urban Alliance, I see the importance of providing access to career opportunities, mentorship, and skills training so young individuals can build confidence, gain experience, and prove what they are capable of achieving.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are loyalty, commitment, and knowing my worth. I believe in understanding my value, setting healthy boundaries, and being willing to step outside of my comfort zone. Growth requires challenge, and I strive to continuously improve myself while encouraging others to become the best versions of themselves.
