Her Story

About Jazzmun

My journey into HOA management began unexpectedly when I was laid off from my position as a mortgage loan analyst. A friend who worked at KRJ Management reached out to me, saying the company loved God, loved helping people, and was looking to change the industry. She knew I shared those values and encouraged me to apply. I started as a receptionist three years ago, and I've experienced tremendous growth since then. I went from receptionist to team lead, then to manager over the client care department, and now I'm stepping into the role of director over both the client care and closing departments. In my current role, I manage a team of call representatives who answer incoming calls, emails, and walk-ins from homeowners, board members, clients, and vendors. I handle escalation calls and work directly with the Vice President of Compliance to ensure we're providing accurate information to our clients. When I first started, I had the same mindset as many homeowners, questioning why HOAs have certain rules. But over these past few years, I've grown and developed into a leader in the industry, and I'm committed to changing people's perceptions of both the industry and our company.

Ten minutes with Jazzmun

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say find a foundation you can stand on, because the industry is not easy. You have to have a solid foundation within your faith, or whatever you believe in, and yourself. You will be able to stand, because this is not easy, but you have to have a solid foundation. Without that strong base to build upon, it's difficult to navigate the challenges that come with this field.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Kindness is definitely one of my core values. Being kind to other people, because yes, you may go through things personally, or people will anger you, but showing kindness will always be one of my values. Love and grace are also central to who I am and how I lead. These values guide me in both my professional work and my personal life, and they're reflected in how I interact with clients, my team, and the community I serve.
