Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jean

01What do you attribute your success to?

My son born with spina bifida more than 21 years ago inspired me to advocate before he was born despite doctors' advice to terminate; he is now successful with perfect GPA and internship; this led to creating accessible playgrounds and broader advocacy.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Not to take no for an answer; be persistent and resilient to turn no into maybe then yes; simple accommodations like hand-raising instead of standing for recognition.
