Her Story
About Jean
Jean Jones-Brown, founder of Bountiful Blessings Daughters of Light Women's Ministry, has dedicated more than 20 years to serving others through ministry, faith, compassion, and community outreach. Her life's mission has been rooted in helping women discover healing, purpose, and spiritual growth while fostering meaningful connections across generations.
Jean's ministry journey took a transformative turn when she sensed a clear calling from the Lord while serving in another ministry. Rather than building a traditional women's program, she felt led to create a ministry centered on prayer, fellowship, authentic relationships, and the presence of God. Trusting this divine direction, she helped establish women's gatherings through the inner-city ministry You Can't Hurt God's Property (YCGHP), where women from diverse backgrounds came together to pray, share their testimonies, and support one another through life's challenges.
What began as a small gathering quickly grew into a vibrant spiritual community. Women from all walks of life found a safe place to experience healing, encouragement, and transformation. Through heartfelt prayer, genuine fellowship, and the sharing of personal stories, lives were changed and lasting bonds were formed.
After relocating to California, Jean continued to expand her ministry vision. Recognizing the growing disconnect between generations, she became passionate about building intergenerational communities where women of all ages can learn from and support one another. Through Bountiful Blessings, she seeks to bring together seniors who may feel isolated, younger women searching for guidance and mentorship, and women navigating the responsibilities and transitions of everyday life. Her vision is to create a nurturing community where prayer requests, praise reports, wisdom, and encouragement are shared freely, allowing women to grow stronger together in faith.
In addition to her ministry leadership, Jean serves in customer service, where she regularly supports individuals facing difficult circumstances, including accidents, loss, and major life transitions. She approaches each interaction with empathy and compassion, striving to offer not only practical assistance but also hope and encouragement. Whether in ministry or the workplace, she believes every conversation is an opportunity to uplift someone and remind them that new beginnings and greater possibilities lie ahead.
Committed to lifelong learning and spiritual leadership, Jean earned her Master's Degree in Theology with a concentration in Christian Counseling in 2020. Her academic training, combined with decades of ministry experience, has equipped her to guide, mentor, and encourage women through both spiritual and personal challenges.
Today, Jean continues to inspire others through her unwavering faith, resilience, and servant leadership. Her message is one of hope: that God can bring beauty from brokenness, purpose from pain, and strength through every season of life. Through Bountiful Blessings, she remains dedicated to helping women and families grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally while building a legacy of faith that impacts future generations.

Ten minutes with Jean
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to what I call "beauty out of brokenness." Some of life's greatest challenges have become the very experiences that shaped my character, strengthened my faith, and fueled my passion to serve and encourage others. Rather than allowing setbacks to define me, I have learned to let them refine me.
Throughout my journey, there have been moments when others focused more on my limitations than my potential. However, I chose not to allow those opinions to determine my future. Instead, I anchored myself in faith and in the belief that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). When my own strength was insufficient, I found strength in God, perseverance in adversity, and purpose in every season.
I also attribute my success to resilience—the ability to keep moving forward despite disappointments, obstacles, or personal struggles. Whether facing challenges related to age, health, loss, or unexpected life transitions, I have learned that every experience carries a lesson and an opportunity for growth.
Most importantly, I believe success is not measured solely by personal achievements but by the impact we have on others. Even while navigating my own journey, I strive to be a source of hope, encouragement, and inspiration. If my story can help someone else find the courage to keep going, then every challenge I've overcome has served a greater purpose. That commitment to faith, perseverance, and serving others is what I believe has contributed most to my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to allow my experiences, passions, and faith to shape my purpose—and never to be afraid to use my voice and story to make a difference in the lives of others. I learned that our greatest challenges can become our greatest opportunities to encourage, uplift, and inspire those who are walking a similar path.
After rededicating my life, I was blessed to be mentored by remarkable women of faith who played a significant role in both my personal and spiritual growth. One of the most influential was Charlene Beard, who taught me the importance of prayer, the value of speaking with confidence and conviction, and the courage to follow God's calling, even when the path was uncertain. Her guidance helped me understand that leadership begins with faith, authenticity, and a willingness to serve.
I have also been deeply inspired by Peggy Stubbs, a woman of extraordinary faith who continues to write, teach, and impact lives well into her 90s. Her example reminds me that purpose has no expiration date and that it is never too late to pursue the work God has placed in your heart.
These mentors taught me that true success is not measured solely by titles, accomplishments, or recognition, but by the lives we touch and the legacy we leave behind. Their wisdom reinforced my commitment to living a life of service, resilience, and continual growth while encouraging others to discover their own purpose and potential. Today, I strive to pass that same encouragement forward, believing that every experience—both the victories and the challenges—can be used for a greater purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to never underestimate the power of character, resilience, and compassion. Success is not built solely on skills and qualifications—it is also built on how you treat people and how you navigate life's challenges.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is the value of trust—trust in yourself, trust in your abilities, and trust in the process of growth. Many people carry wounds from broken relationships, disappointments, and difficult life experiences. I know this personally because I have overcome my own seasons of trauma, hurt, and poor choices. Through faith, perseverance, and the journey of forgiveness, I discovered that healing is possible and that our past does not have to define our future.
I encourage young women to recognize that they were created with purpose and that their lives have value, even when they are still discovering their path. The words we hear, the environments we choose, and the people we surround ourselves with all influence who we become. Choose relationships that inspire growth, speak life over yourself, and never allow setbacks to convince you that you are less than capable.
Lead with integrity, extend grace to others, and remain compassionate in every interaction. When you combine confidence with humility and ambition with empathy, you not only create opportunities for yourself—you become a source of encouragement and strength for those around you. The world needs women who are willing to lead with both excellence and heart, and I believe the greatest success comes when we use our experiences to uplift and empower others along the way.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me are love, compassion, empathy, and encouragement. I believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and understanding, regardless of the circumstances they face.
In my customer service role, I frequently speak with individuals who are going through challenging situations, whether they've experienced an accident, vehicle damage, or other unexpected losses. I see each interaction as an opportunity not only to assist them with their needs but also to offer compassion during a challenging moment.
I recently spoke with a woman who was struggling with letting go of her vehicle. She shared that after going through a divorce, it was the first major purchase she had made on her own. I acknowledged the strength it took for her to move forward after such a significant loss and reminded her that this chapter was not the end of her story. I told her that while it felt like she was letting something go, new opportunities were ahead. Just as a new season brings growth, she had been given a fresh page in life's book, and she had the power to write a new chapter.
By the end of our conversation, she thanked me for showing genuine care, compassion, and understanding. Moments like that remind me why these values matter so much. Whether in my work, ministry, or personal life, I strive to be a source of encouragement and hope, helping others feel seen, valued, and supported. I believe that leading with love and compassion has the power to make a meaningful difference in someone's day—and sometimes even in their life.
