About Jean
I recently retired after 25 years as a theater director. I grew up in a small town in Maine where everyone did ski racing, which was a big part of my life until I graduated college. I have a master's degree. Now I focus on writing, including a book about my family and where I grew up.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think I was really lucky. My family, my mother was a difficult person, but because of that I spent a lot of time skiing which grounded me and made me a woods person.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have a good sense of what you want to do. Be a badass as a woman in a male-dominated world.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Spending time with family now that I'm retired, writing my book about my family.
