What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a commitment that runs deeper than business—it’s personal. Behind the whimsical cartoon of my grandmother on the Bel Canto Cafe & Espresso Bar logo lies a promise I made long ago: to honor her legacy. Since 2003, I have kept that promise by serving only the highest-quality, 100% Arabica coffee in over 60 flavors, paired with carefully curated novelty gifts.
My business experience has been shaped by hard-earned victories, such as recently negotiating critical vendor agreements—a six-month process that required approvals from every district manager. These challenges have strengthened my strategic thinking and perseverance, skills that I rely on daily to grow and sustain my business.
Yet, despite the long hours and complex negotiations, the most rewarding part of my work is wonderfully simple: hearing a single compliment from a customer. Those moments remind me why I do what I do and make every challenge worthwhile.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are dedication, integrity, and family. I strive to honor commitments, treat others with respect, and approach every challenge with care and perseverance. These principles not only shape how I run my business but also how I connect with the people around me—customers, colleagues, and loved ones alike.
Outside of work, I make time for the things that bring joy and balance to my life. I love taking cruises, staying active through exercise, and horseback riding with my daughter, who also works alongside me. Sharing these experiences with her strengthens our bond and reminds me of the importance of family in everything I do.
