Her Story
About Jeanette
Jeanette Irvin is a human resources professional based in St. Augustine, Florida, with more than a decade of dedicated experience in the HR field and over fifteen years of broader background in management, coaching, and workforce development. She currently serves as a Learning and Development Specialist at Selene Finance LP, a role she has held since 2014, where she builds training curricula rooted in adult learning theory, conducts needs assessments, and develops e-learning content and performance evaluations. Prior to this position, she spent nearly four years at EverBank as a Learning Solutions and Performance Specialist, where she trained new hires and tenured staff alike while ensuring course content stayed aligned with evolving regulatory standards.
Irvin's path into human resources was shaped by an unconventional route. She spent over fifteen years managing teams within the mortgage industry before moving into the food service sector for a couple of years, an experience that revealed her natural talent for helping others work through challenges and find balance between their professional and personal lives. That realization pushed her toward training and development, and eventually into HR, which she now considers her true professional home. Today, her work spans talent acquisition, new-hire onboarding, communicating company culture and benefits, resolving payroll concerns, and supporting employees through transfers and relocations.
A graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Communication, Irvin was recently accepted into a graduate MBA program focused on human resources and is now working to return to her alma mater to complete it. She has been a member of the Association for Talent Development since 2013 and intends to pursue PHR certification going forward. Guided by a personal commitment to integrity, respect, and accountability, Irvin brings passion, compassion, and courage into both her professional relationships and her everyday life, values she hopes to pass along to the next generation of women entering the HR field.
