Her Story
About Jeanette
I joined the Navy in 2017 after being inspired by cadets at the Air Force Academy during a high school basketball trip. I attended the Naval Academy where I majored in robotics and control engineering and graduated in 2021. I served as executive assistant to the Commandant of the Midshipmen for over two years, advocating for sexual assault survivors, and now teach math and nuclear physics as a Nuclear Power School instructor while advising 33 students.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jeanette
01What do you attribute your success to?
I am a very hard-working person and care very deeply about both the people I lead and the work that I do.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always practice empathy when they can, and to have confidence in themselves. Because it is a very male-dominated field, but the women, like, most of the women I've met in the Navy are super high performers, and they 100% belong there.
