Her Story
About Jeanine
I founded my talk show in 2014 and formalized it as New Approach Media LLC in 2021. As Public Relations Director, host, and executive director, I'm responsible for scheduling guests and creating meaningful content. My show airs on the Daily Gospel Network every Saturday at 9:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, and I maintain a YouTube channel. I use various platforms and email to connect with people interested in sharing their stories. The reason I created New Approach Media is because I wanted positive media when there's so many different things happening that are negative. I select guests who have overcome insurmountable odds and can encourage, empower, and inspire others. One of my most memorable interviews was with Dr. Yvonne Poynter, whose daughter was murdered. Years later, when they found the murderer, she went into the prison system and asked him why he did it. She encouraged forgiveness, and that interview really stood out to me. I'm also a cosmetologist by trade, so I've always been someone who listens to people's stories. Even while making the outward appearance look beautiful, I want to touch somebody's heart to encourage them in whatever they're going through. Currently, I work full-time at Ohio Means Jobs in Lake County as a re-employment advisor and re-employment specialist, a position I've held for 5 years since starting in 2021.

Ten minutes with Jeanine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I am a believer, so I am a Christian, so I definitely believe in God, and I feel like I get my strength definitely from just my relationship spiritually with God. I'm also a member at my church where I serve, and then I just have people around me that we sow into each other. Having that spiritual foundation and community support has been essential to everything I've been able to accomplish.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to believe in yourself. Don't count yourself out. And surround yourself with people that is like your village, and that can support you when sometimes you want to give up. I think it's so important to have that support system around you, people who will be there for you during the difficult times when you're tempted to quit.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenges in my field as a host is that a lot of people sometimes don't believe that they should be the ones stepping out on faith. Sometimes people feel like they had to have everything together before they actually do anything. I think we all kind of feel like we should do certain things or be certain places before we actually can be used to inspire other people, but I disagree. I'm sure there's always somebody who has a story that's relatable, and you have to start somewhere. Sometimes you look at where you want to be, but you gotta appreciate the small things. It's not where you may not be where you want to be, but you're not where you used to be, and everything, you just have to have a mustard seed faith. Just step out and just do things, no matter how small.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that I feel are most important is serving. I feel like we're supposed to serve one another. And then somehow being a light in such a dark world. I think the reason why I actually came up with the idea of New Approach Media is because I wanted positive media when there's so many different things that are happening that are negative and very concerning. I just feel like we should be a light, we should encourage one another, because it's difficult times. We should be there for one another, however we can. And sometimes it could just be a smile, it could be a word of encouragement. And then sometimes people just need help, and however I fit in in that help, that's what I like to do. I want to live a legacy where I encourage people and inspire people.
