Her Story
About Jeanne
I work for Intuit in our tech ecosystem, managing around $4 billion in tech investments every year. This includes everything from run-the-business work we need to invest in, all the way to M&A and H3 Horizon Investments. I'm part of a small team of 3 that implements those investments on behalf of Intuit. Before joining Intuit, I was a fixed income and equity analyst. Less than a year ago, I completed my MBA and made a deliberate shift in my career. I realized I wanted to move from analysis to being an operator, so I've been getting my feet wet this year, switching from one side of the table where I'm analyzing companies to actually helping run and shape strategy. I work in finance, which is still very male-dominated, but I've learned not to be afraid to stick my neck out there and be a go-getter.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jeanne
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think there's an element of just resilience. I don't think it's important to just continue moving forward, whatever that may look like. Life will have its ups and downs, it will have moments where you don't have a free second in the day, and others where you have a whole vacation planned. So, just being able to continue to be fluid and resilient, I think, is incredibly helpful. It's about not giving up and adapting to whatever comes your way, whether that's a packed schedule or a moment to breathe.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. I think especially in corporate America, or maybe because I work in finance which is still very male-dominated, don't be afraid to stick your neck out there and be a go-getter. I think it's really respected. And don't be afraid to lean on other people. I think you'll find that there are a lot of people, both male and female, willing to help and guide you through your career if you're open to it.
