Her Story

About Jeanne

Jeanne Bishop is a seasoned professional with 38 years of experience spanning repossession, skip tracing, collections, and private investigation. After relocating from Illinois to Texas with her young son and limited resources, she began her career at a used car dealership, where she worked in collections and skip tracing. Her experience there inspired her to establish her own repossession company, where she became a highly successful recovery specialist, achieving an impressive 96 percent recovery rate. Earlier in her career, she also broke barriers as the first woman in sales at a Toyota dealership, ultimately becoming a top performer in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Throughout her career, Jeanne has built a reputation for honesty, determination, and resilience. She approaches challenging situations directly and professionally, believing in being a person of her word and maintaining trust in every professional relationship. Her extensive experience has also led her to continue select private investigation work, particularly involving fraud matters, while collaborating with legal professionals and expanding her knowledge of repossession law. Despite facing difficult and sometimes dangerous situations throughout her career, Jeanne has remained committed to finding opportunities in adversity and embracing the lessons each experience has provided.

Today, Jeanne is expanding her entrepreneurial interests through Reruns Resale Boutique, a business specializing in high-end designer clothing, jewelry, accessories, and luxury handbags at accessible resale prices. Her creativity extends beyond resale, including a talent for repairing high-end handbags and exploring new business opportunities. Outside of her professional pursuits, Jeanne treasures time with her grandchildren and enjoys the companionship of her four dogs and mini horses. Her remarkable career reflects a combination of perseverance, creativity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to turning challenges into opportunities.

Ten minutes with Jeanne

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to maintaining perspective, not taking challenges personally, and staying resilient and tenacious when faced with obstacles.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to maintain integrity by honoring my commitments and ensuring my actions align with my words, while building resilience by not taking comments or situations personally.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the repossession industry is to stay confident, be persistent, and let your results speak for themselves. It took me time to prove myself, but I established my credibility and achieved a 96% recovery rate. Being a woman can also be an advantage in building rapport and communicating effectively with debtors.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges I have faced have also created the greatest opportunities for growth. Relocating from Illinois to Austin with my son, without a job or money, pushed me to build a career from the ground up. I began working at a used car dealership, which inspired me to start my own business, and later became Toyota’s first woman in sales and was recognized as its top saleswoman.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity. I believe in being a woman of my word, honoring my commitments, and communicating directly while always treating others with respect.
