Her Story

About Jeanne

I'm the founder and chief AI Architect of Ars Innovate Technologies and Consulting, where I'm really helping business leaders and companies of all sizes use AI responsibly. I've been in technology since the late 90s, when we used to do hand coding for websites with HTML. I feel like every 5 years, I'm kind of changing what I want to do, and I think part of that has to do with that I'm neurodivergent. I'm just wrapping up a NSF Doctoral Fellowship with North Carolina State University that ends on May 11th. I've been there for 2 years, and over that time, I've been bringing in AI frameworks from my dissertation. I've done classic AI for quite a long time, but with foundational AI and agentic AI coming out in 2022, I was putting together prompt frameworks. My day-to-day changes because as a solo entrepreneur, I'm trying to really build my business but also bring correct information to business leaders. I write research papers and recently developed an app based on maturity orchestration that looked at 10,000 different companies and leaders, building out 5 different pillars underneath 3 different areas. I do a lot of workshops and attend conferences. I'm definitely a people person, and I want to see people succeed. That brings me a lot of joy, and I think that's really what drives it. My company is getting ready to pilot a division that's a SaaS business with an AI receptionist for the service industry, with three verticals: health (medical and health), beauty creatives and tattoo artists, and trades where we're implementing AI receptionist through SMS texting.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm definitely a people person, and I want to see people succeed, and it brings me a lot of joy. I think that's really what drives it. What I was interested in was really getting out correct information to businesses and really helping them out. I've been lucky that the Raleigh-Durham area has a really, really strong women in tech support. I think having a good mentor and advisors, really surrounding yourself with other women who have been through things like that, who are able to speak to that and also to validate your reactions, has been important. I also have really good male mentors as well who are super supportive. Just making sure to go and reach out to those meetups, and just talk to people, and don't be afraid. I know when we're all first starting to get into a business, you know, we feel like, oh, I'm not good enough, or I don't know that, and everybody has been there.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think that meetups are amazing, especially the women meetups. There's so many women out there who are looking also to connect, and who are willing to share their experience and help them, and so that connection, I cannot... I mean, whether it's online or it's in person, you know, you gotta start somewhere, just go ahead and put yourself out there, and just connect with them. Because also one of them might become a mentor, might become an advisor, might become a great friend, but also might give you a job. I think it's really great to connect with the women groups, but also there's regular AI groups that are inclusive of all populations. Just making sure to go and reach out to those meetups, and just talk to people, and don't be afraid. I know when we're all first starting to get into a business, you know, we feel like, oh, I'm not good enough, or I don't know that, and everybody has been there. So just other women in these areas, they're really supportive to help you out. And even make sure to get male mentors' perspective too, and how you're feeling, and, you know, it could just be your own feelings sometimes, too.
