Her Story

About Jeannie

Jeannie Oliver serves as a Senior Solutions Consultant in the education technology field, where she has worked for 24 years. In her role, she develops relationships with public education schools nationwide, focusing on curriculum design and alignment to support educators. A former educator herself, she is driven by a passion for education and bringing hope to students, ensuring schools receive the best EdTech support so teachers can focus on their students. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Michigan State University. Throughout her career, Oliver has achieved recognition as one of the top 5% of salespeople at multiple companies. She attributes her success to the diverse professionals she meets at conferences and events, including educators, business owners, and corporate representatives. As a first-generation Latina, she has overcome challenges by seeking support outside her family and leaning on the advice to lean in, especially when facing uncertainty, a mantra inspired by a mentor and the book Lean In. Her core values of faith, family, and love guide her commitment to being present for others and fostering hope in both her professional and personal life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jeannie

01What do you attribute your success to?

The people that I meet in the field, an amalgamation of educators to business owners and reps from other corporations at conferences and events.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Lean in, especially when I'm not comfortable. I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I just lean in. Mantra from mentor and the book Lean In.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Lean in, reach out. That people help you build your next step. Don't think you have to do it on your own.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Our educators have faced immense challenges over the past six years as they work to transition from outdated, industrial-era systems to progressive, modern learning models. Today’s students are diverse and highly capable, yet they face unprecedented pressures from social media, mental health struggles, and rapid technological shifts.

As an advocate for educators, I see a profound opportunity to reshape public education. By prioritizing student agency, embedding global-mindedness into the curriculum, introducing early career pathways, and establishing robust mental and physical safety nets, our schools can move beyond past constraints to cultivate environments where students, families, and faculty truly thrive.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Faith, family, love. Bringing hope to others. Being present for conversations and the people surrounding me.
