About Jemima
Jemima Ohwobete is a recent PhD graduate in civil and environmental engineering who began her professional journey in 2020. Her research has focused on environmental issues such as arsenic contamination in well versus municipal water systems in El Paso, Texas, where she worked directly with communities to communicate mitigation strategies. She is passionate about science communication and translating complex findings into accessible terms. Jemima is actively seeking positions in environmental remediation and compliance, with the goal of advancing to a project manager role overseeing environmental projects. She maintains membership in the Society of Women Environmental Professionals (SWEP), specifically the Sea River chapter, and values sharing her experiences to inspire other women in engineering fields.
