Her Story
About Jen
My career began in journalism where I worked for about 7 years in community journalism. As the field evolved to become web-based, I transitioned from cut-and-paste work in the newsroom to writing content for community blogs and websites, particularly in real estate where people care about local markets. I started my own business blogging for customers across different industries, starting with real estate but also working with pool design and contractors who needed SEO set up for their brands and businesses. My business experienced tremendous growth, going from 5 clients at the start to 25 in the first year, and then reaching 1,000 clients by the second year. This venture evolved into a full-blown digital marketing agency that I ran for a number of years. In 2023, I joined WebDesk Studios, a web development firm where we build really massive, increasingly complex and interesting websites. While I'm still capable of doing the marketing work, I've shifted into more of a business development role to be more strategic and help our clients achieve the goals I was achieving for my own company and my previous clients. Beyond my business work, I pursued higher education and now teach business classes at the university level, working with students on innovation projects.
