About Jenifer

I started in the electricity and power generation field around 16 years ago, focusing on operations, maintenance, and determining gas. When I got involved in that field, I really wanted to understand how energy, electricity, power, and gas work. As I understood the entire supply chain, I got more involved in different departments. I spent the first 10 years in that foundational work. After that, I started working in different roles in the risk department, which is important because it's part of the drivers. Around my 9th, 10th, and 11th years, I started taking on different, more management positions instead of being outside all the time. When I started my management position, I crossed over to the private sector in different roles, especially in the middle office, speaking about the oil and gas field. After all that journey, I got to my current role, which I've held for the last 2 years. I still get involved in the power and oil and gas sector, but from different perspectives, more surrounding the financial, legal stuff, and regulation, for making better business decisions. In my typical day, especially in the power and electricity sectors, we work on all the day-ahead transactions. For example, today, Monday, we have to be accurate about what we need to decide for all the rest of the week or the next coming months. All the time, we are doing work for the future, considering better volumes, better decisions on the market, understanding how the spread is working, and all the fundamentals. When we have all that information, every day we have to track that consistently and how to apply that in the market. When I finish my operations today, I have to read everything that's going on in the portfolio to make sure the decisions we took will be correct for the next coming days. People usually consider my opinion for taking different decisions, or at least my perspective is a good driver to go ahead. I think part of my achievement is getting involved and staying updated with what's going on outside, being with the best practices and the best perspective that I can bring to my job internally, by myself, and with the company that I work for.
