About Jeniffer
Jeniffer Rosario Alvelo, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, is a Senior Nurse Manager specializing in emergency nursing leadership and operational development within freestanding emergency department settings. She brings more than 25 years of nursing experience, beginning her career in Puerto Rico in 2001 before advancing through clinical and leadership roles across Miami and Orlando. Her clinical background spans stroke units, labor and delivery, trauma care, and emergency departments, eventually progressing into charge nurse and assistant nurse manager positions before stepping into senior leadership. She is recognized for her ability to build new clinical facilities from the ground up, establish operational workflows, and cultivate strong, accountable care teams.
She currently serves in a senior leadership role with AdventHealth, where she oversees the development and daily operations of a newly opened freestanding emergency department. Her responsibilities include hiring and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and driving patient flow, efficiency, and quality of care. She is known for a leadership philosophy centered on transparency, accountability, and leading by example, fostering a culture where staff are empowered to take ownership and deliver high-quality emergency care. She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and has been recognized for her contributions to team recognition programs and staff morale initiatives.
Purdue Global
Jeniffer earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2025 while continuing full-time clinical leadership work. She is especially proud of her role in opening new emergency care facilities and building sustainable systems that support both patients and staff. Beyond her professional achievements, she is deeply family-oriented and finds joy in cooking and creating memories with her loved ones, especially her granddaughter. Inspired early in life by her grandmother’s caregiving, she continues to extend that legacy through her work in nursing and her commitment to community education initiatives, including promoting e-bike safety awareness for children in her local area.

I attribute my success to hard work, doing the right thing for all people and challenging myself to do more.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always be myself and stay authentic in how I show up professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be yourself, set goals, take challenges with a positive attitude no matter the outcome and never give up.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity is to recognize the nurses that are working hard. People want to be appreciated.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are respect, strong work ethic, transparency, honesty, love, and empathy.
