About Jeniffer
She is a distinguished immunologist, educator, and academic leader with over a decade of experience in higher education, biomedical research, and STEM outreach, currently serving as PhD Director and Associate Professor of Immunology at Keck Graduate Institute. In this role, she leads the PhD program, teaches and mentors graduate students, and serves as Program Lead for STEMwise, a K-12 outreach program. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Belonging, Engagement, and Empowerment Committee, as Faculty Assembly Chair, and as School of Pharmacy Faculty Representative. Her research career includes postdoctoral research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and graduate studies at UC Irvine, where she earned her PhD in Immunology. She also served as a post-baccalaureate researcher at UC San Diego. She is recognized as a passionate, innovative, and equity-focused academic leader who is deeply committed to advancing scientific research, mentoring the next generation of scientists, and promoting inclusion and engagement in the academic community.
