Her Story

About Jenn

I started my law enforcement career at a young age and quickly developed a curiosity for undercover work, specifically in prostitution and human trafficking. I was only around my early twenties when I started working undercover with the department, and being young and baby-faced made me a really good fit for the work. I worked undercover for almost half my career, doing prostitution operations, then moving into narcotics and organized crime. In 2015, I promoted to sergeant, and about a year later became the first female vice sergeant that Las Vegas Metro ever had. Vice is my baby, my most favorite undercover work. I created a team and we did amazing things while I was there. I then went back to patrol and joined Community Oriented Policing, where we did outreach, intervention work, and proactive policing rather than reactive. Eventually I was appointed director of peer support for all of Las Vegas Metro, running their peer support program until I retired in April 2022. After going through emotional intelligence training to get my mind right from the job and everything I'd seen, I was encouraged to start my own training company in July of last year. I created Covert Blue with the goal of building the biggest women's undercover and investigations training ever, trained solely by women, because throughout my entire career it was always a guy trying to explain to me how to work as an undercover prostitute. In February, just six months into owning the company after creating the logo, brand, and website on my own, I had 65 women register from 25 states and Canada. It was an amazing four and a half days with seven female trainers. Since then, everything has blown up. I've been on numerous podcasts, and this past weekend I was nominated for America's Greatest Detective at CrimeCon. I also keynote speak at places beyond law enforcement, talking about the multitasking of a mother who works a dangerous job, raises kids, practices self-care, and builds resilience. I have a book coming out July 4th called Covert Blue about my stories as a cop and creating the company.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I'm really adamant about this: the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your relationships. The relationships got me to where I'm at. That's what got me nominated for America's Greatest Detective - the relationships that I keep. I don't even call it networking, I call it relationships, because those are the things that are gonna grow your business. It's about the people, and they don't even have to have anything to do with your line of work, or what you're selling, or teaching, or whatever. It's about the relationships, and who they know, and how they'll support you along your journey. Having those great relationships is super, super important. This business has become my new purpose, and it's creating so many relationships. You have to have two things: purpose and connections, purpose and relationships.
