About Jenn
Jenn Forbes is a licensed therapist in the mental health field. She graduated undergrad in 2013 and began pursuing a degree in counseling education with coursework starting around 2014. Forbes entered the workforce in 2017 or 2018 through an internship and has worked extensively with clients who have eating disorders. She maintains ongoing supervision even after licensure and draws from personal inspiration including her mother's career as a nurse. Forbes offers sliding scale fees and participates in the Open Path Collective platform to make services more accessible, charging no more than $70 per session. She also coaches volleyball, having played in college, and emphasizes representation for women and African-American women in her field. Forbes attributes her therapeutic work to finding the human connection in everyone and approaching clients with empathy regardless of differing experiences. Her advice to young women entering the industry is to take up space, use their voice, advocate for what they feel, and recognize that representation matters.
