Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jenna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I've always needed to be somebody. To make my last name mean something more than previous generations.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

We can't come in acting like we aren't supposed to be here. Too often women stepping into the produce field or transportation field think they're the only girl on the team or that we're few and far between. Just because we're fewer doesn't mean that we don't belong. I'd hate for any young woman to come into the industry and think that they have to pay different dues because they're a woman.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: logistically a lot going on with increased fuel, tariffs impacting transportation costs, people looking to revamp supply chain and drive efficiencies. Also, produce industry facing warmer weather affecting crops and sourcing. Opportunities: supply chain conversations with automation and AI changing, educating on fresh food benefits, getting food stamps to cover more fresh goods, increasing beet penetration in US households.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the number one thing, and then probably as loyal as they come. Loyalty, integrity, trust, all of those are my biggest values.
