She believes that great sales professionals are driven by a unique combination of resilience, strategic thinking, and relationship-building. Through her work, Jennae continues to help organizations create winning sales cultures while empowering teams to achieve measurable and sustainable growth.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennae
01What do you attribute your success to?
I hear this often, it's my tenacity, but I think it's just being raised by a single mom who had 3 daughters. I'm the oldest of 3, and I saw how much she had to work to give us a very good life. That's what keeps me motivated every day. She has instilled independence in myself and my two sisters, so for me, I know that I want to achieve everything that cannot ever be taken away from me, such as my career, my travels, my education. I think it's her instilling the independence, and then also just the tenacity that I have, and then my drive to over-excel.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The quote that I had on my college grad cap is, wherever you go, go with all of your heart. That's something that I have lived by, just meaning be present, show up at 100% every day to what it is that you're doing. You're not going to be the best at everything, but that way you're giving your best to everything you're doing. So, wherever you go, go with all your heart. And as far as professional advice, very early on in my career, I learned, don't dress for the role that you have, dress for the role that you want. That has actually taken me very far as well, just growing within the sales organizations.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Wherever you go, go with all your heart - be present, show up at 100% every day to what it is that you're doing. You're not going to be the best at everything, but that way you're giving your best to everything you're doing. And don't dress for the role that you have, dress for the role that you want. That has actually taken me very far, just growing within the sales organizations.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being a double minority, a woman and of Asian descent, and being in a male-dominated space within sales, I feel like I've always had to prove myself. With proving myself, I was able to grow really quickly, especially at ON24. With that, there was just a lot of negative comments about being a woman, being able to rise as quickly up the totem pole in the sales organization, so there was always that kind of hurdles that I had to go up against. Also, just with the solutions that I have sold, our ICP, our ideal customer profile, is executive. So, often enough, within customer board, or within customer meeting rooms, all of them are male executives. I feel as if I've always had to be over-prepared and show up at 100% in order to get the attention and the respect in those male-dominated rooms.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say integrity is a big thing. I am proud of everything that I do. I do believe that you are who you surround yourself with as well, so it comes to having a good support system, family, friends, surroundings, colleagues. But overall, integrity, honesty, and I would say professionalism, and then, of course, work hard, play hard. I do feel that there has to be a good balance between how much we put into work, and then being able to reward ourselves for those wins.
