Her Story
About Jennefer
Jennefer Taylor-Frangos serves as President and Managing Partner of Transworld Business Advisors of West Central Ohio, where she helps entrepreneurs and business owners navigate sales, acquisitions, transitions, and growth opportunities. In her five years as a business broker, she has handled transactions ranging from a $30,000 hair salon to a $100 million deal in collaboration with Roy Sutton of Transworld's Florida office. Her work also includes guiding entrepreneurs through franchise opportunities and supporting owners at every stage of the transition process. She leads a team of nine agents serving businesses across the Columbus-to-Dayton corridor.
Before entering business brokerage, Taylor-Frangos built and operated companies across several industries. She owned and operated 1st Choice Assisted Care, LLC, a non-traditional home health agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and Down syndrome. She grew the organization to approximately 250 employees in 2018 before before selling it in 2020. Her earlier ventures include a starting a medical billing agency and a hotel childcare company she ran in Los Angeles during the dot-com era. Today, she co-owns multiple businesses alongside her brokerage.
Taylor-Frangos is equally committed to building professional relationships, mentoring entrepreneurs, and creating opportunities for business owners. With Jordan Turner, she co-founded The Deal Flow Network, a growth-oriented networking community, and launched The Deal Flow Network podcast. The pair also co-founded The Current at Lewis Center, a coworking space and podcast studio in Lewis Center, Ohio, where the show is produced. The studios are available for other business owners and creators to rent for their own podcasts and content. They also co-authored The Owners' Playbook, a book on business continuity and exits.
She attributes her success to surrounding herself with genuine people who stand by her through both wins and setbacks. She encourages other entrepreneurs to invest in authentic professional relationships and to let go of those that don't offer real support.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennefer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to surrounding myself with people who genuinely support me. Having people in my life who believe in me and stand by me through both the good times and the hard ones has been essential to my growth. Just as important has been learning to let go of relationships that don't offer that kind of support. Who you keep close shapes how far you can go.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice came from my parents: have a servant's heart and a king's authority. To me, that means serving people generously while leading with confidence and conviction. They also taught me to never stop learning and to never underestimate anyone. In my work, that last one proves itself constantly. The quiet owner of a small shop may have built something remarkable, and the person you overlook today may be the buyer, the seller, or the partner who changes everything tomorrow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be intentional about who you surround yourself with. Sometimes the people closest to us are quietly jealous of our success, and we have to be willing to let those relationships go. Seek out authentic people who will stand by you through both your wins and your challenges. And know that you belong at the table. Business brokerage is still a male-dominated field, but owners want an advisor who listens, tells them the truth, and knows the numbers. Do that well, and your work will speak for itself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in business brokerage is helping owners prepare for growth, succession, and their eventual exit. Many entrepreneurs are so focused on running their companies day to day that they never document critical information or build a business that can run without them. The challenge and the opportunity are one and the same: most owners don't think about their exit until they're ready to leave, and by then it's often too late to maximize what they've built. Through my brokerage work, The Deal Flow Network, and The Owners' Playbook, the book I co-authored with my business partner, I'm working to help owners build stronger, more transferable businesses and recognize the true value of what they've created.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity comes first. In my work, people trust me with what is often the largest asset they own, and that trust has to be earned every day. Beyond that, I value education, mentorship, and collaboration, because I believe we all go further when we share what we know. Supporting other women is especially important to me. I want women to recognize their own abilities, understand their worth, and celebrate one another's success rather than compete with it.
