About Jennell
Jennell Encizo is a social impact professional dedicated to advancing health equity, medication access, and inclusive community engagement. She currently serves as Program and Partnership Coordinator at Rx Outreach, where she leads patient support initiatives, develops healthcare partnerships, and works to reduce barriers to affordable medications. With a background in social work, business administration, and community advocacy, Jennell brings a people-centered approach to building programs that improve healthcare access and strengthen relationships between organizations and the communities they serve.
Prior to her work in nonprofit healthcare, Jennell gained extensive experience in clinical research as a Clinical Research Supervisor with the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development Study at Washington University in St. Louis. In that role, she managed research operations, supervised teams, coordinated participant engagement, and supported large-scale study initiatives. She earned both a Master of Social Work and Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, where she demonstrated leadership through initiatives such as founding the Latin Graduate Student Association, developing mentorship opportunities, and advocating for greater representation and support for Latino and Hispanic students.
Beyond healthcare and research, Jennell is passionate about creating welcoming and empowering spaces through arts and community connection. As founder of the Golden Ground Project, she teaches salsa, bachata, and cumbia while organizing Afro-Latin dance events throughout St. Louis that emphasize consent, belonging, and psychological safety. Through her professional and community work, Jennell continues to champion equity, empathy, and inclusive environments where people feel respected, supported, and empowered to thrive.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to passion. My dedication and enthusiasm for what I do have motivated me to continuously grow, overcome challenges, and pursue excellence in my work.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. Be curious, ask questions, seek out mentorship wherever you can, and continue building your knowledge and skills. The experiences and connections you gain along the way will help shape your career and open doors for future success.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are treating people the way I want to be treated, staying curious, being accountable, and showing empathy and kindness. I believe that building genuine relationships, taking responsibility for my actions, and approaching others with understanding and respect are essential to creating a positive impact.
