Her Story

About Jenni

Jennifer Guarin serves as a project manager for a security company, where she has accumulated about 15 years of experience in management. After earning her bachelor's degree in communications, she entered the field and gained hands-on experience balancing up to 50 projects at a time, including installations of fire alarms, security alarms, and cameras. She took time away from the industry to raise her four children but returned five years ago. Guarin has drawn inspiration from various managers, including one named Diane at a local community college who helped her develop organizational and leadership skills. She is passionate about mentoring others and encourages young women entering the male-dominated security field to learn extensively, build connections, and not shy away from asking questions in this ever-evolving industry. Outside of work, Guarin volunteers with organizations such as Run Drugs Out of Town and the Mount Clemens Grand Prix Soapbox Derby. She credits her success to her father's strong work ethic, experiences across different fields, and the satisfaction of delivering exceptional service that leaves customers happy.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jenni

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to growing up seeing my dad's work ethic and striving to be my best, having experience in different fields, learning different leadership styles, and seeing customers happy when I go above and beyond in installations. My work ethic has always been really important to me.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to learn as much as you can, and make a lot of connections. And don't be afraid to ask questions, because the industry is ever-changing. It's important to have those connections that can help you gain more knowledge. Not being afraid to get your feet wet and just really hunker down and learn the field.
