About Jennie
Jennie Hansen began her career in healthcare in 1980 after earning her undergraduate degree from Boston College and completing her graduate program in nursing with a focus on community and public health at the University of California, San Francisco. She spent nearly 25 years at OnLock Senior Health Services, progressing from researcher to CEO, where she helped replicate the program across multiple states and contributed to its codification as a federal Medicare benefit known as PACE, now serving over 100,000 older adults in 33 states and Washington, D.C. From 2015 onward, she has held the position of former CEO of the American Geriatric Society while serving on multiple boards and advising startups in areas such as home care, hospice, and Alzheimer's diagnosis. Hansen is a 45-year member and former president of the American Society for Aging, from which she received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her contributions have been recognized with an honorary doctorate from Harvard University, an honorary doctorate from Boston College, the University Medal from UCSF, and a TEDx talk at Boston College. She supports organizations including OnLock Senior Health Services, Boston College, UCSF, Common Cause, and HelpAge USA.
