Jennifer Carinci, Ed.D., PMP
Dr. Jennifer Carinci, Ed.D., PMP, is a distinguished leader in the field of nonprofit consulting and STEM education, with over two decades of experience driving innovation and strategic initiatives. She is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Carinci Consulting, where she helps nonprofits and higher education institutions secure funding, design impactful programs, and navigate complex grant landscapes. In 2023 alone, Jennifer supported clients in obtaining over $191 million in funding, underscoring her expertise in grant strategy, program development, and research-driven solutions.
Jennifer’s career highlights include serving as the inaugural Executive Director of the National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA), where she guided transformative engineering research initiatives. She also served as Program Director at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), leading NSF-funded projects that advanced STEM teacher education and improved undergraduate STEM learning. Her experience spans leadership roles at the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), where she directed research, innovation, and data strategy, as well as mentoring and coaching educators and researchers.
An accomplished scholar, Jennifer holds a B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art, a Master of Science in Education, and a Doctorate in Teacher Development and Leadership from Johns Hopkins University. Her career is marked by a commitment to equity, mentorship, and fostering communities of innovation, earning her recognition such as NSF STEM for All Video Showcase awards, Fulbright Teacher Scholar in Greece, and Consultant of the Year honors from McAllister & Quinn. I would advise young women entering the industry to actively reach out to their network, understand the needs they encounter, and focus on providing effective solutions.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life are family, balance, and an active, adventurous lifestyle—spending quality time with my husband and two kids, and enjoying activities like kickboxing, sailing, and the outdoors.
