Her Story
About Jennifer
I began my career following an internship at an advertising agency during college. At the time, I had initially envisioned a path in broadcast journalism, but that experience introduced me to the world of media and fundamentally shifted my trajectory. Through tools like Scarborough Research and the development of audience personas, I became deeply interested in the intersection of storytelling and data—specifically, how brands can authentically enter a consumer’s world based on their media habits, purchasing behaviors, and daily activities.
What resonated most was the ability to deliver messages that are both relevant and visible—meeting people where they are in a meaningful way. I quickly realized this was not only a discipline, but a career path I hadn’t previously considered.
I started on the paid media side, with a strong focus on digital as it was rapidly emerging at the beginning of my career. Over time, my expertise has evolved into a more holistic view of the consumer journey. One that considers the full, connected brand experience across every touchpoint. Whether it’s paid media, earned coverage, or owned channels, I focus on how these elements work together cohesively and the consistent thread that ties them back to the brand’s narrative.
Today, my core expertise lies in strategic planning and channel strategy, with a strong emphasis on aligning marketing efforts to measurable business outcomes. In today’s landscape, connecting media strategy directly to client KPIs is not optional—it’s essential to driving meaningful impact.
One of my most significant professional achievements has been building and leading a high-performing team, while establishing advanced capabilities and a standard of work that consistently elevates the value we deliver to our clients beyond traditional agency expectations.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is a quote that really resonated with me: remember why you started. When things get hard or burnout happens, I take a breath and go back to what is the thing that really drove me to this position and keeps pushing me forward. I kind of re-center on that and get my motivation straight. That has helped me to eliminate the stress and the clutter in ways, and refocus and be productive. It's about remembering the "why" of what you're in.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I'm big on personality tests - the Enneagram is one, and I'm a number one on the Enneagram, so I typically go with my gut. I would say, if you have a conviction or a real gut feeling about something, and you're being pushed to do anything that contradicts that, think twice. Don't waiver on what you know to be true. If you have a gut feeling that something is wrong, or not the right thing to do or say, it's in those moments where I have regrets. When I look back and I'm like, oh man, I should have done it the way that I knew was right, or I shouldn't have listened to that advice, it would have been better. Those are the regrets that I have. Now, if I were to be asked to do something that went against what I knew was the right thing, I would find a way to navigate that to maintain my standard of integrity - in how I represent myself, my agency, and my clients.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity is there's this huge reset where everybody's at the starting line at the same time. If you're a holding company or a two-person agency, it's kind of like the Wild West of possibility with some of the AI and new capabilities. It's a huge opportunity that levels the playing field. The challenge is keeping up - it's like you've got one leg in the old way and one leg in the new way, and you can't drop either plate on either side. Balancing all of that and continuing to keep up is the challenge.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust is probably number one. I expect, personally and professionally, for anyone I have a relationship with in either regard to put in the effort and meet me as a united team. I hold my relationships to the high standard that I personally commit in both places.
I also think it's really important that we don't take ourselves too seriously and that we try to have fun, because these days you don't get back. I'm kind of trying to refocus my thinking there too - let's make this a fun meeting, we can do that, it's our choice. I'm trying to bring more of that levity on both sides.
