Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to resilience, integrity, hard work, and never being afraid to keep learning. I have faced challenges that could have slowed me down, but instead they taught me to adapt, stay focused, and keep moving forward. I believe in doing the right thing, taking ownership of my work, and treating people with respect. Most importantly, I have never stopped believing that there is always another level to reach and another opportunity to make a difference.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Based on the career story you’ve shared with me, I’d frame the best advice you’ve ever received as:

“Do the work, learn everything you can, and let your work speak for you. Titles may change, but your reputation for integrity, reliability, and results follows you.”

For an award or professional bio, you could make it more personal:

The best career advice I ever received was to never stop learning, never compromise my integrity, and never be afraid to step into a challenge. I learned that you don’t build a career by chasing titles. You build it by becoming someone people can trust, solving problems others may overlook, and leaving every team and process better than you found it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to women entering the insurance industry is simple: learn the business, ask questions, and never underestimate the value of your voice.

Insurance is an industry built on details, regulations, data, relationships, and integrity. Take the time to understand how all of those pieces connect. Become the person others can rely on when a problem needs to be solved.

Do not be afraid to sit at the table. You do not have to know everything before you speak, lead, or take on a new challenge. Be willing to learn, own your mistakes, and keep growing.

Most importantly, protect your integrity. Your knowledge may get you an opportunity, but your character, consistency, and reputation will build your career.

Do not wait for someone to tell you that you are ready. Prepare yourself, step forward, and make your impact known.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges and opportunities in the insurance industry are closely connected. The industry is constantly evolving through technology, changing regulations, rising costs, and increasing expectations from consumers and healthcare organizations.

One of the greatest challenges is navigating that change while maintaining accuracy, compliance, financial integrity, and trust. But that same complexity creates tremendous opportunities for professionals who are willing to learn, adapt, and think beyond traditional processes.

For women especially, there is an opportunity to bring a different perspective to problem solving, leadership, collaboration, and innovation. My career has taught me that challenges are often where the greatest opportunities to grow, lead, and create meaningful change are found.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me personally and professionally are integrity, honesty, accountability, respect, and compassion.

I believe in doing the right thing even when no one is watching, keeping my word, and treating people with dignity. In business, I believe trust is earned through consistency, transparency, and taking responsibility for the decisions we make.

Personally, I value family, loyalty, faith, kindness, and perseverance. Professionally, I bring those same values to my work. I believe you can be successful, driven, and results focused while still being a good human being.

For me, true leadership is not just about what you accomplish. It is about how you make people feel, how you treat others along the way, and the legacy you leave behind.
