About Jennifer
Jennifer Collera serves as the controller for three entities, ECAB Elevators, Innovative Concepts and Designs, and Ingram Investments, where she oversees all financial aspects including invoices, payments, accounts payable, financial statements, month-end closings, and tax returns. Having begun her accounting career at a young age under the guidance of her father, a CPA, she worked in CPA firms for much of her professional life before transitioning to her current role in February after leaving a prior firm. Collera has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor for over 25 years and finds great reward in teaching clients about financial management, QuickBooks needs, and IRS credits. She earned her degree from the University of Tampa with a 3.87 GPA after attending the Academy of the Holy Names and Tampa Preparatory School, and she maintains membership in the FICPA despite not being a CPA. Her professional journey includes induction into honor societies during her senior year and community service with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay while in school.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If they were still in school, I'd say study harder. The CPA exam is not a joke. You know, it's a hard test to take, and it takes a lot of dedication and a lot of diligence studying to get to that point. And to just be confident. I think, the accounting field, primarily over time, history, it's been a man's world. And, women... although I've fought my entire career to get paid the same as my male counterparts, whether I had more experience, more education, or whatever, it always seems like the men in the office always seem to make a little bit more than the women do. So, just to be confident, and to study hard, and stand tall.
