Her Story

About Jennifer

Jennifer D'Amico is the Global Customer Director for the Lifestyle Sector at DHL Global Forwarding, where she has spent over 30 years building a career rooted in sales, operations, and a deep specialization in luxury, fashion, and beauty logistics. After graduating from Villanova University in 1994 with a degree in psychology and a minor in sociology, she was recruited into the logistics industry by a fellow Villanova alumna, who mentored her through hands-on roles ranging from warehouse operations to sales. That relationship eventually led her to DHL, where she went on to manage major trade lanes across France, the Benelux, the UK, and Ireland before carving out a dedicated focus on luxury and fashion clients in 2016.

Since then, D'Amico has built her role from the ground up, developing specialized operations teams, a customs brokerage program, and a visual merchandising initiative tailored to the unique demands of top-tier fashion and beauty brands. She continues to invest in her own expertise through credentials such as the Inside LVMH certificate and the Fashion Business Essentials program at Parsons School of Design, alongside active memberships in organizations like Vogue Business, Women's Wear Daily, and the CoLab. Her work today centers on high-level client relationships, strategic account development, and guiding brands through evolving challenges such as sustainability-driven shifts in transportation.

Beyond her client-facing work, D'Amico is committed to mentorship, both within DHL and through her ongoing involvement with Villanova's Business of Fashion roundtables, where she supports the next generation entering the industry. She is also a vocal advocate for equality across race, religion, creed, and sexual orientation. Outside of her professional life, she is a mother of two, an avid live music fan, and someone who values travel and new experiences as much as the relationships and mentorship that have shaped her career.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and patience, along with recognizing that no one succeeds alone. I rely heavily on the mentors who have guided me and the colleagues I work alongside, and I make it a priority to be the same kind of partner for our customers. I believe in collaborating from beginning to end and letting the people I work with own their successes.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When I graduated college with nothing to my name but a Sears bike, my dad told me, "Jenny, just go into sales and figure it out later." Throughout my career, whenever new opportunities came up, his advice was always the same: "Just try it." He often shared the story of taking a leap of faith on a managing director role in Europe, a decision that changed the course of his life and, in many ways, shaped who my sister and I became.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My industry looks very different today than it did thirty years ago, when I was often the only woman in the room. My advice is to find what you're most passionate about and commit to learning as much as you can about it. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and don't be afraid to seek out a mentor.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Sustainability is one of the biggest conversations shaping our field right now, particularly around whether brands should shift their shipping methods, such as moving from ocean to air freight or vice versa. This raises important questions about the broader impact of that shift and what changes would need to happen across the supply chain to support it. It's a topic that's gained real momentum recently, especially around events like Climate Week, and it's become a central focus for the luxury and fashion sector.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is central to who I am. I have two children, a 19-year-old daughter and a 22-year-old son. Outside of work, I'm passionate about live music and love going to concerts, and I enjoy traveling as much as I can. I try to approach life with the mindset of trying everything once.
