Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say hard work, motivation, and never giving up. In my role it's all about relationships and building a market with a great team behind me. I attribute a lot of my success to consistency, motivation, and my support system at home. I would not be able to do what I do without my husband. He's my biggest fan.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I've had the same mentor since I started at Siegfried 13 years ago. She's my boss now. Learning from her and shadowing her has really shaped who I am. She has helped me focus on small wins, focus on what you can control, and given me the confidence to step into a room and lead conversations.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never lose sight of your goals, find a mentor or somebody that you look up to. Don't be afraid to approach difficult conversations. It's only going to make you stronger. Don't let any biases get in the way of what you want to do and where you want to go.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include when clients don't have budget or opportunities, and building relationships in accounting and finance takes time and patience. Opportunities are endless through networking and building a strong network.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Motivation, consistency, and relationships. I focus on giving full attention in meetings without distractions and follow-up is key to building great relationships. This bleeds into my personal life as well.
