Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to equal parts seeking out education, mentors, and trustworthy people, while also trusting that everything I have needed to succeed is already within me. I believe growth comes from being willing to learn from others while also recognizing and trusting my own abilities.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to recognize that the ability to make people feel seen, heard, and connected is a valuable professional strength. When that ability comes naturally to you, do not feel that you need to change who you are to succeed. You can bring your light, silliness, whimsy, and softness into the workplace, and those qualities can be genuine assets in building meaningful relationships with others.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe that self-love should never require self-sacrifice. It is okay to prioritize yourself, and doing so does not make you selfish. As women, we can receive unconscious messages that equate self-abandonment with love, but I believe it is important to recognize those messages and understand that taking care of yourself is a meaningful and necessary part of living well and showing up fully for others.
