Her Story
About Jennifer
I started my journey in health and wellness about two and a half years ago as an RBT working with kids diagnosed with autism, then moved to the YMCA where I worked with children, overseeing overall operations and serving as a counselor. I decided to branch into the health part of the field, working with kids at elementary schools on violence prevention and stress management, collaborating with school counselors and social workers. This experience led me to take things into my own hands and start my own health and wellness company as a consultant. I've been working on it for about 3 years behind the scenes, and finally got it up and running about 3 months ago. I offer stress management and emotional wellness services, helping people realize they're in control of their day and their emotional health. I work with companies on preventing burnout at work, figuring out stressors, and how to navigate that while producing emotional intelligence. I work with both children through the school year and with corporate companies on emotional wellness overall and stress management. I've landed two clients in regards to corporate companies. My typical day starts at 6:15 in the morning where I journal, meditate, and read my Bible before my three kids wake up. Monday through Wednesday I focus on writing my book and working on my business, reaching out to clients and setting up meetings. Thursday and Friday I focus on creating content to attract more clients and get my business known.

Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being myself and putting out my authenticity. Promoting emotional wellness comes very natural to me. It's off-putting to work with people to get a better understanding of how they operate, and to get them to realize that I understand them, I see them, and I hear them, and that it's reciprocated on my end, and then I can give that energy back to them. I just love working with others in a more therapeutic way, for those that do feel burnt out, and for those that don't feel seen or heard. I can give them that energy that they need, be their cheerleader and in their corner, and we can problem solve and figure out how to bring those results to life and be seen and tangible. I also want to say that hearing from you was a big thing for me because it gave me more of a confidence boost within myself that it is okay to be seen and to be heard and to put yourself out there, because you never know what opportunities lie out there, and someone is always watching, and to never doubt yourself.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I hope that my saying is very influential to others who may feel as if they don't know exactly what they're doing, or how they're gonna do it. Basically just take that risk, and let yourself be seen, let yourself be heard, because someone is always watching, and you're influential to somebody. If not everybody, then somebody. It is okay to be seen and to be heard and to put yourself out there, because you never know what opportunities lie out there, and someone is always watching, and to never doubt yourself.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I'm a very diplomatic person, and I believe in fairness and balance. I like to balance things out, and I don't like to outweigh one or the other, because without one or the other, you wouldn't be where you are. Everything is always a balance, but you can either intake that as in more or less good or bad, but everything is a balance. My typical day reflects this as I start at 6:15 in the morning journaling, meditating, and reading my Bible to set the tone for the day and relax myself and be calm throughout. I want to start things off very calm. I also discovered who I was through a lot of emotional healing for myself and attending therapy about 3 times. During that time, I realized I was everyone else's cheerleader but I wasn't my own cheerleader, so I had to figure out how to do that. Being someone else's cheerleader and uplifting them and helping them problem-solve with their internal conflict is my natural talent.
