Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a lifelong commitment to learning, growth, and continuous improvement. Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities to gain experience across different roles and industries while developing a genuine interest in understanding people, recognizing their strengths, and helping them find where they can contribute most effectively. I am a natural problem solver who enjoys consulting, mentoring, networking, and building meaningful professional relationships. I believe in staying connected, sharing knowledge, and serving as an agent of positive change, and these qualities have been instrumental in shaping my success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from a former college president, who taught me that identifying a problem is only the first step; the real value comes from knowing what you are going to do about it. That advice has shaped how I approach challenges throughout my career. I believe in being proactive, looking beyond the problem itself, and focusing on developing practical, effective solutions that create meaningful results.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to look beyond what someone has already accomplished and focus on where you can help them grow. As a leader, it is important to recognize your team’s individual talents, place people in positions where they can excel, and give them the encouragement, trust, and support they need to succeed. I also encourage women to be patient, trust the process, remain calm under pressure, and focus on being part of the solution.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is finding the right talent for highly specialized roles. It is not simply about filling a position; it is about identifying individuals whose skills, experience, and strengths align with the specific requirements of the role. I see this as both a challenge and an opportunity to better understand people, recognize their potential, and ensure the right person is placed in the right position where they can thrive and contribute to the organization’s success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, loyalty, and honesty. I believe in taking pride in what I do, giving my best effort, and always striving to do the right thing. I value being honest and speaking the truth, even when it may be difficult, but I believe honesty should always be communicated with discernment, respect, and grace. I also believe in being transparent with those I work with and having the courage to speak openly with leaders when something needs to be addressed. These values guide how I build relationships, make decisions, and lead others.
