Ten minutes with Jennifer
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to working so hard every single day, and I work so hard because I have my son's picture right in front of me. Everything I do is for him. He's going to be 17 and is now in 11th grade. When he started school, I found out he had a learning disability, and he has come so far - he just took his third SAT and is awaiting his score, and so he can achieve SUNY Binghamton. He is super smart. Being a single mom on my on since he was 3 years old take a lot of work! I feel proud as it has always been about him, and with his last year in high-school approaching I am trying to learn how to separate myself and learn how to be my best self for him on this journey we call women-hood.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Everything takes time, you have to learn before you start!
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do what comes naturally in your gut. Follow your path. And make sure you listen to yourself. But earn what you can, because no one's gonna do it for you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is making sure that the customer = business understand what they are obtaining a true dedicated fiber network!
So many customers are being lied to from last mile networks, to shared networks, into contract insufficiency, production knowledge insufficiency and more..
Lightpath owns and maintains our fiber network from end to end; inclusive of our own local care teams working 24/7/365.
mission critical networks are very important for enterprise business today and in the future as we are constantly innovating and driving growth clients operational initiatives.
I look forward to assisting and sharing how Lightpath can work with your business goals, as no two businesses are the same!
