About Jennifer

Jennifer Lara is a licensed esthetician based in Florida with more than 15 years of experience in the beauty industry. After dropping out of high school to pursue her passion for makeup and hair, she began her career providing hands-on beauty services before transitioning to six years of business mentoring for industry professionals. For the past four years, she has owned and hosted Beauty in Your City, an annual networking conference held in New York City that empowers beauty providers to connect, collaborate, and access education. She is currently enrolled in her fourth year of the nurse practitioner program at Valencia College, with the goal of offering cosmetic treatments like Botox and fillers to help women feel beautiful. In addition to her professional pursuits, Jennifer is a full-time stay-at-home mom who homeschools her two children and draws inspiration from her journey as a former single mother to encourage entrepreneurship.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stop letting fear take over you, and just take that leap. Because you never know where it will lead you, and it is better to fail a million times than to not have tried at all. That is literally what has gotten me to where I'm at currently.
